There is an excellent parrilla called La Colonia within walking distance - across the street just one block down from the hotel. The cons of this hotel: the single beds are very narrow, it's a little distance from the center of town, and due to the kind of keys used to lock the doors, there is a lot of noise in the mornings of people unlocking and locking their doors. The pros of this hotel: very clean - there is attention to detail here, good breakfast buffet, the staff is especially attentive and caring, the rooms are comfortable and of a decent size, there are nice views out of most of the windows, there is a nice outside deck with tables and chairs, and a lovely inner courtyard. We always felt happy to be going back to this hotel every evening. We loved the coppery look of the outside of the hotel, the beautifully polished wooden staircase inside and we enjoyed the little sitting rooms on each floor. The Hotel Cuprum is a little bit away from the center of town, but it is such a nice hotel that we didn't mind having to take a taxi to get back and forth from the center. Yes!! That turned out to be a good thing. By the time we called to make a reservation, there were no rooms left at their hotel, and they directed us to the Hotel Cuprum. Our son-in-law was attending a conference in Santa Rosa, and we wanted to stay at the same hotel where the conference attendees were staying.
